How do I cancel?

Tenant Admins: Admin → Billing → Cancel Subscription. Choose cancel-at-end-of-cycle (continued access until cycle end) or immediate (no further charges, immediate suspension).

Will I lose my data immediately?

No. Cancellation triggers a 30-day grace window during which:

  • The tenant is read-only (documents viewable, no new uploads/edits)
  • You can run a full data export
  • You can reactivate by re-subscribing

After 30 days, the tenant data is queued for deletion (a further 30-day deletion grace, then permanent removal).

What's in the data export?

Everything you put in, in open formats:

  • All documents in original format
  • All metadata as JSON
  • Audit log as JSON
  • Comments and workflow history as JSON
  • User and role assignments as JSON
  • Configuration (folder structure, classifications, retention policies) as YAML

Delivered as a ZIP archive (compressed; can be tens of GBs for large tenants).

How long does export take?

Smaller tenants (under 10K documents): under an hour. Larger tenants: up to 24 hours. You get an email when the export is ready, with a 7-day download window.

Can I export ongoing (not just at cancellation)?

Yes — Admin → Export Tenant Data is available anytime. Useful for periodic cold-backup or pre-migration validation.

Are my external shares revoked on cancellation?

Yes, immediately. Any external link created via Papyrus stops working at cancellation, even within the 30-day grace.

What about the audit log?

The audit log is part of the export. We also retain it on our side for 7 years post-cancellation, as required by certain regulatory frameworks (and to support post-cancellation investigations if needed).

Can I just delete the data, not export?

Yes. During cancellation, choose “Delete without export”. The 30-day grace still applies (giving you a chance to change your mind); after that, permanent deletion proceeds.

What if I cancel and re-subscribe later?

If within the 30-day grace, your tenant is fully restored. If within the subsequent 30-day deletion grace, restoration is possible via support ticket. After that, restoration isn't possible — you'd start fresh.
