Mobile App
Installing, signing in, scanning, working offline — everything about the Papyrus mobile app on Android and iOS.
Mobile App
How do I install it?
Android: download the APK from your tenant's downloads page. iOS: TestFlight beta access available on request. Public app store availability is on the 2026 roadmap.
What can I do in the app?
Scan documents (camera capture with auto-deskew), upload from your photo library, view recent documents, approve workflow tasks, comment/@mention, search, get push notifications.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Recently-viewed documents are cached. Comments, approvals, and uploads queue locally. Everything syncs automatically when connectivity returns.
How does scanning work?
Tap the camera button. Point at the document; the app auto-detects edges and corrects perspective. Take photo. Multiple pages combine into one PDF. OCR runs on the server after upload.
Why does it ask for camera permission?
For document scanning. You can decline; you'll still be able to view documents and approve workflows. Without camera, you lose mobile capture.
Why does it ask for location?
For optional GPS-tagging of scanned documents (useful for field inspections, deliveries). Decline if you don't want it; the rest works fine.
How much storage does it use?
About 80 MB for the app itself. Cached documents are limited to 200 MB by default (configurable in settings); cache evicts oldest first.
Will it drain my battery?
No — background sync runs every 30 seconds when connected, then idles. Push notifications use the OS's native delivery (no battery overhead).
Can I use it on a tablet?
Yes. The same APK / iOS build works on tablets. Layout adapts to larger screens.
