Logistics, Freight and Customs
Bills of lading, customs declarations, port-and-rail documents, fleet records — Papyrus handles the document blizzard of moving cargo through East Africa.
Logistics, Freight and Customs
Moving cargo through Mombasa, Naivasha ICD, JKIA, and onward to Uganda, Rwanda, South Sudan and the DRC generates documentation like nothing else. Each shipment has a paper-trail measured in dozens. Papyrus turns the trail into a record.
The shipment workspace
Each shipment is a workspace containing:
- Commercial invoice
- Packing list
- Bill of lading or air waybill
- Certificate of origin
- KRA / KEBS / KEPHIS / NEMA clearances
- Single Customs Territory documents (where applicable)
- ICD / port release notes
- Insurance certificate
- Truck dispatch and POD documents
- Final delivery confirmation
Every milestone is timestamped and the workspace is the single source of truth for customer, agent, and finance.
Customs declarations
KRA iCMS submissions:
- Entry forms with HS codes
- Supporting documents linked
- Assessment notice
- Payment evidence
- Release order
Papyrus archives the iCMS reference numbers and pre-assesses subsequent shipments for the same goods.
Fleet records
Each truck / vehicle:
- Logbook and registration
- Insurance certificate (with expiry)
- Inspection certificate
- TLB (Transport Licence Board) licence
- Driver's licence (verified)
- Maintenance log
- Fuel records
- Trip history
Port-and-rail integration
For larger players, integrations pull shipment status from KPA, KRC, and ICD systems into the workspace timeline. Customer visibility is then a tenant-permission-gated portal.
