Acceptance Workflow

A specific kind of workflow used to confirm receipt and acceptance of a document — distinct from an approval workflow.

Acceptance Workflow

An acceptance workflow is a lightweight workflow used to confirm receipt and acceptance of a document by named recipients — distinct from an approval workflow which seeks decision-making authority.

Common examples: policy distribution (each employee acknowledges receipt of the updated leave policy), SOP rollout (operations staff acknowledge they have read the new procedure), legal disclosure (counterparties acknowledge receipt of a regulatory notice).

Each acknowledgement is captured as a workflow task completion, with timestamp, IP, and device. The acceptance record is admissible evidence that the recipient saw the document.

Acceptance workflows do not support rejection — the recipient either accepts or the workflow remains incomplete, which itself is a tracked state.
