Permission
A permission is a specific right granted to a user or role on a specific resource. In Papyrus, permissions are atomic and additive — a user has the union of all permissions granted to them directly, via their roles, via their department, and via inheritance from parent folders.
The standard Papyrus permission set:
View— see the document/folder exists; read its contentDownload— download the filePrint— print (where printing is restricted)Edit— modify content or metadataDelete— soft-delete (and restore from recycle bin)Share— share internally or externallyComment— add comments and @mentionsApprove— act on workflow tasksManagePermissions— grant/revoke permissions to others
Permissions can be granted on individual documents, on folders (with inheritance), on workspaces, or at the tenant level (via roles).
