Access Control List

An Access Control List (ACL) is a list of principals (users, roles, departments) and the permissions each holds on a specific resource. In Papyrus, every document, folder, and workspace has an ACL.

ACLs are evaluated most specific first. A user-level grant overrides a department-level grant overrides a tenant-level default.

Permissions in a Papyrus ACL include: View, Download, Print, Edit, Delete, Share, Comment, Approve, ManagePermissions.

ACLs are inherited from parent resources unless explicitly overridden. A folder's ACL applies to documents in it; a department's ACL applies to its folders; the tenant's defaults apply to its departments.
