Signing In and Setting Up Your Profile
How to sign in, set up MFA, register a passkey, and configure your profile photo and preferences.
Signing In and Setting Up Your Profile
Signing in
Visit https://{your-tenant}.papyrus.io or your organisation's custom domain. Enter your email and password.
If your organisation uses SSO (Microsoft / Google / Okta), click “Sign in with [Provider]” instead — you'll be redirected to your identity provider.
First-time setup
The first time you sign in, you'll be prompted to:
- Change your password
- Set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) — recommended
- Register your device
Enabling MFA
From your profile menu (top-right) → Profile & Settings → Security:
- Click “Enable Authenticator App MFA”
- Scan the QR code with Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, or Authy
- Enter the 6-digit code to confirm
- Save the backup codes somewhere safe (a password manager is ideal)
After MFA is enabled, every new sign-in will require the 6-digit code from your authenticator app.
Registering a passkey (recommended)
Passkeys replace passwords with biometric or hardware-key sign-in. Faster, more secure.
From Profile & Settings → Security:
- Click “Register a passkey”
- Choose: Touch ID, Face ID, Windows Hello, or a hardware security key
- Follow the prompts on your device
Next time you sign in, choose “Sign in with passkey” — no password needed.
Profile photo and details
From Profile & Settings → Profile:
- Upload a profile photo (shown in comments, mentions, and activity)
- Set your preferred display name
- Confirm your department (visible to admins to set; you can request a change)
- Set your timezone (defaults to Africa/Nairobi)
Notification preferences
From Profile & Settings → Notifications:
- In-app notifications: which events ping the bell icon
- Email notifications: which events email you
- Push notifications (mobile / browser): which events push to your device
- Digest mode: bundle low-priority notifications into a daily summary
The defaults are sensible. Adjust if you find yourself overwhelmed.
Out-of-office
Going on leave? Set “Out of Office” in your profile, choose a delegate, and from that day all your workflow tasks auto-route to the delegate until you return.
